Google's Project Glass

I am always interested in new technology and I was also always thinking that we wanna go one day with glasses through the city and get all the information we need right onto the glasses. And what can I say a dream might becoming true with the Project Glass of Google. Google is not the first company who is dealing with that so called augmented reality but maybe the first one who really can sell it for a good price and which really will work.

But let us start with some basic facts. What will you do with this glasses and how would it work? First of all as Google says this glasses will come with an transparent LCD or AMOLED display that puts information right in front of your eyes. Also the use of a camera, GPS and 3G or 4G data connection is included. To get the needed information you only have to move your head or speak something. If you want to know something it would appears in front of your eye and/or it will tell you because it also has an voice output.
The operating system how could it be different would be Android. With Wifi or Bluetooth 4.0 you can also connect the glasses to a smartphone. Googles shows us an interesting video to see what the glasses might can do.

Google is saying that the public release should be around 2014 and it should not cost more than a normal smartphone. That would be between 250 and 650 $. We can only hope that Google publish this glasses and makes our life more efficient with that. Then we can all say "We live in the Sci-Fi". I think that would be great but don't forget also to consider the negative sides of this because it also could be that Google makes advertisement with this glasses. That means that every time when you are looking at something it could be that you get the matching ad for that. Or also think about that Google can track your whole life with that. They could record everything - what you are doing, what you like, where you are going. So in my opinion it is a double edged sword on the one side it could makes our lives much easier and more interactiv on the other side it could also be bad for us.
